


Located in Cortez, 40 miles west of Durango, this public course is open March through November. This is a championship 18-hole golf course with sand traps, water hazards, practice driving range and putting green. Hunters Run is located between Durango and Ignacio about 15 minutes from Durango. Green fees are reasonable and carts are available for 18 holes. One of the newest courses in the Durango area, Hunters Run Golf Course offers nine holes. Anyone interested in real estate or memberships can call (970) 382-7800. The Glacier Club (what used to be The Cliffs at Tamarron) is now a private facility so outside play is not available. Tee times are accepted seven days in advance. Hillcrest is a golf club, not a country club it provides quality golf at a reasonable price. The club has invested more than $500,000 in improvements during the past few years, including a 2,000-square-foot addition to the clubhouse. The club hosts an extensive tournament program which is topped off by the Navajo Trail Open and includes three charity events. The course is well maintained with greens that are recognized as some of the finest in the state.

Hillcrest is a family oriented golf club. The normal season runs from March to November. It is owned by the members and is open to the public. The course overlooks the town and the La Plata Mountains. Hillcrest Golf Club is located on a small mesa just north of, and adjacent to, the Fort Lewis College campus above Durango. Winding its way along the Animas1 River below the towering red cliffs of the San Juan Mountains lies this magnificent golf course designed by architect Ken Dye.
